Also, for anyone interested who doesn't check out the cel forums or Rubberslug, I recently posted a pretty big update to my cel gallery. Well, it's big for me.
Some New Cel Stuffage
I wish I could think of something witty to say, but, alas, I am still tired and feeling more than a little brain ded. A condition that was not at all improved by my decision to watch 4 hours of Naruto non-stop. This completely bizarre conduct can only lead to two questions:
1. What the holy heck is wrong with me?
and
2. Why the holy hell won't Sasuke just freaking DIE already? >.O

I'm not impressed with my paint color so I'm not posting it. I'm some sort of stain which was suitable for framing windows and doors. ;_;

But Sasuke ... man, so far I can't stand him. Sakura irritates me because she slobbers all over Sasuke all the time. I realized last night that the only truly "cool" moment Sasuke had was when he was "dying" at Haku's hands, to protect Naruto. It was like the first time he even seemed remotely human. And, I thought to myself -- "This show would be a heckuva lot better if he just stayed dead." (Although I probably should not admit that out loud. o.o) Perhaps I will like him more as the show progresses. I'm at the beginning of the Chunin Exam now.
So far, I would have to say I'm a total Kakashi fangal. I love the way he seems like such a total slacker-man, but, underneath it all, he's Mr. Uber Cool. I love a character with a hidden side to them. :D I also really liked Rock Lee in the manga, because he's so adorable and bumbly. But, Kakashi, I think, will remain my "main man". (Besides, he's "legal", as they say. LOL!)
Thanks for the nice words on the update. ^.^ I still can't believe I got that Jump Card pan. I had thought I would only manage to snag the one Jump cel. Getting this one was a huge, huge cause for excitement. *happeh grin*

I know that the movie 2 cels are way down from what they once were but, I haven't been watching the CCS market in months. So I was hoping you'd have a better idea about it than I do since I know you look at ccs more often than I do these days. :)

Date: 2007-02-01 03:54 pm (UTC)I'm not sure if it qualifies as "Weiss boy goodness", since I only want cels of my two favorite characters. But, I do love my Yohji and Aya cels. And, I'm surprised I was able to get them, honestly. A lot of them came to me by way of "second chance" incidents -- where I missed out the first time (or even a second time in some cases), only to add the cel later. Especially with the Aya cels. A couple of my friends joke that Aya is really trying to follow me home b/c of all the lucky breaks and second chances I've gotten on cels of him. To me, though, it's a really great (and lucky) thing. *hands chocolate to the cel gods* :D
Ooooh! That is one pretty Sakura cel! I don't consider myself an expert on the Movie cels (or anything, really -- LOL), as I've never had a desire to collect from the Movie. But, I think cels of this scene are still very much in demand. My guess is that your friend could at least get her money back, and maybe even a bit more. If it was me, I would price it at $350 or even $400, becuase she can always drop the price back down to the original $200 if it doesn't sell. I hope she can find a new home for it soon!

Although, there was a Ken/Yuriko cel on YJ that I actually thought about buying. It was just so, so pretty. Then, I thought to myself: "Self, it's Ken. Aya & Yohji would never forgive you." (Plus, I have no gallery section for it -- LOL!)
I agree! Your friend's Sakura is gorgeous. I also think it's one of the best I've seen in a really long time. I hope she gets a good price for it, and is able to send it off to a loving new home. *sends good luck vibes*

I love, love, love the FOR cels. You would not believe how excited I was over getting them. It's been so long since I was able to add any nice cels from that show to my collection. Plus, to get one of my FoR wishlists -- it was the biggest thrill! I'm so grateful to you for selling them to me. *gloms*
I still need to scan in the Mikagami w/o mouth cel, but I wanted to try and do the mouth layer first. That is such a perfect cel of him, too! *huggles cel*

Date: 2007-02-04 06:23 am (UTC)Weeeellll ... I probably shouldn't admit this out loud, especially since I am feeling fragile and horrible and am afraid of being villified ... But, yes, I did watch it in English. Now, before you groan and think to yourself how horrible I am =P, I will add that I am one of those very odd people who (in general) doesn't much care what language the show is in, so I generally watch shows in both, or I will toggle back and forth between the two languages. If I'm tired or feeling particularly brain dead, I will watch everything in English, just because I can't wrap my head around reading the subtitles. (getting old sux -- LOL) OK. Now you may feel free to groan and comment on what a horrible anime fan I am. ^.~
