texchan: aya and yohji from weiss kreuz (kitty boyz)
(Written: May, 2009. Story #2 in the GZ-verse)

Warnings: Bad language; Mild sexual situations/tension

Summary: As he tries to pick up the pieces after a near-death experience, Aya realizes he must deal with the emotions and uncertainty stemming from the kisses he and Yohji shared. Was it really "just a kiss"? Or did it mean something more?

Legal Stuff: As always, this story is intended to express one fan's genuine appreciation of Weiss Kreuz and its characters. It is just for fun and not for profit. If you have any rights in the anime described here and find the posting of this fanfiction offensive or harmful, please contact me, and I will be happy to remove it.

Author's Note: This is the second story set in my "Ground Zero Universe". As such, it is a follow up to the events that occurred during "Ground Zero". The stories set within this particular universe are a bit of an experiment for me. In general, I do not write shounen-ai or yaoi stories, but I decided to try and step out of that usual mold -- just a little -- with this series.

"Ground Zero" stories so far: 1. Ground Zero … 2. Freefall

"I don't want to be here," Aya muttered, the words riding out of his mouth on an irritated-sounding sigh as he leaned against a nearby wall and tried to look bored while he watched Yohji scrutinize the building's office directory.

"Yeah, yeah, I know. I heard it all -- five hundred times in the car on the way over here. Give it a rest, already," Yohji replied. He sounded distracted because he was concentrating on the directory's tiny lettering, leaning forward so that his nose practically touched the glass as his index finger ticked off the names and office assignments until he found the right one. "Aha!" he exclaimed, turning around to give Aya a triumphant smile, "Found him. Dr. Bernard Short, office number 10A."

texchan: aya and yohji from weiss kreuz (kitty boyz)
(Written: April, 2008. First story in the GZ-verse.)

Summary: Sometimes, life comes at you a bit too fast, and you're forced to realize how fragile the most important things are. And, when that happens, you find yourself standing at Ground Zero, holding on for all you're worth.

Author's Note: Written as a gift for DeathComes4U, because she's a great friend, who fangirl squeals over Aya with me on IM, and … well, because she asked me to finish this one. Otherwise, it would have languished for eternity in my "not quite done" file.

Warnings: Bad Language. Violence. Shounen-ai.

Ground Zero

(a weiss kreuz fanfiction by tex-chan)

Aya glanced over, frowning as Omi opened the passenger-side door. Aya had been up all night, plagued by nightmares that, although vivid enough to leave him clutching his sheets and gasping for breath in a panicked frenzy, faded into the ether upon his awakening. They had left him with nothing more solid than a feeling of dread-laced unease that settled in his stomach and refused to let go. It was maddening, carrying around this queasy fear, and yet, being unable to face the images head-on. Maddening and irritating -- enough to throw him into one of the deepest black-mood funks he had experienced in a long time. Even the weather seemed to echo his mood. It was chilly and rainy -- gray skies and wet, just as it had been for the past several days.

So, the folks on my f-list filter for in-progress fic have already seen this one. It's taken me a while, but I finally managed to sit down today to edit this thing -- and here's the final version.

This is story #2 in the GZ-verse. It follows the events that happened in Ground Zero.

This one will be up on my website within a day or so -- I just have to do some tinkering with a couple of banners, but I have the pages all ready to go. And I'll probably post it on ff.net, too. Maybe. >.O

Summary: Sometimes, life comes at you a bit too fast, and you’re forced to realize how fragile the most important things are. And, when that happens, you find yourself standing at Ground Zero, holding on for all you’re worth and hoping you'll still be sane when it's all over.

Aya didn’t want company. It was his day off, a rare day in which he didn’t have to deal with anyone; he didn’t have to pretend to be interested in flower orders and arrangements; he didn’t have to listen to whiny customers; he didn’t have to hide his bad mood, for fear of worrying Yohji; he didn’t have to keep up the act. He could be himself, even if “being himself” meant sulking and catering to the dark mood that, even now, threatened to swallow him from the inside out. And, that was exactly what he had planned. A whole day spent brooding and doing things a sane person wouldn’t do. Like driving too fast on wet, slippery roads so that he could feel his heart clench with each skid of the tires and each hair-pin turn. Maybe, if it happened enough, he would feel alive and human again. Read more... )

Yohji stared at the handset, frowning and listening to the beep-beep-beep of the dial tone. After a moment or two, he pressed the off button and placed the phone back on its cradle. He wanted to throw it across the room. He wanted to watch it shatter into a million pieces -- plastic bits and wire raining down on the carpet beneath the sizeable dent he was certain the handset would leave in the wall. As if that would make everything better. As if it would force all of this shit to make some kind of twisted sense. As if smashing the phone would make Aya wake up. But, it was Aya’s phone -- the cordless that sat on top of his dresser -- and Yohji knew Aya would be pissed if he broke it. So, instead of following his better instincts, he sighed and placed it onto its base, twisting the handset around until he heard the small blip that let him know it had connected and was charging.
