texchan: It was decided. Leroy O'Riley had to die. (leroy o'riley)

Given my (continuing) irritation over the fact that our lawn people ruined my yard, my daughter decided to help me out. Yesterday, as I was griping about the whole thing over the phone, she sat down and made a sign for me to hang on the gate -- to let the mowers know they were no longer welcome in my postage stamp-sized yard. Of course, I can't post it because it's absolutely one of my favorite things, ever. She was so sweet and concerned over my feelings, and I love that she wanted to do this to help me. I also love the sign. It made me smile and laugh, changing a bad experience into something more positive. I love that.

Since there is no way I would chance ruining something this precious, I've decided I shall share it with the world! (Or, well, my f-list. =D)

do not mow!

That's adorable. ^_^

I particularly like how she's nixed the cheerful, smiling gardener right along with the machines. Heh.

Thanks! I know I'm biased, but I really love it. I laugh every time I see it.

I know!! That's my favorite part of the whole thing. How he's so smiley and happy ... and yet has a big, ol' STRIKE through him. It's like: Hey, man, I don't care how much you smile. GET OFF MY LAWN!!

*flails with laughter*

Thanks!! I really love it, although I know I'm a (little) biased. *snickers*

My daughter came into the office last night as I was scanning and posting it, and she got a big kick out of the fact that it was going to be up on my LJ. Silly kid. =D

That's a nice drawing and so thoughtfull of your daughter. Kids pick up so easy things don't they and try to make you feel better. (until they in their teens and then they do a full turn around and know everything better and think only of how they feel and they want LOL) How old is she now?

Thanks! I think it's a pretty cute drawing. She is still very thoughtful and caring -- and very sensitive, too. And she is very protective of Mommy. I know those feelings won't survive into her teenage years, and I'm going to miss them a lot.

She's five now, so we still have a little ways to go, although kids are doing "teenager-type" things younger and younger these days. Scary!

I can tell that she is protective of mom ^_^ That's a good thing!

Five years old is such a nice age.

I do agree that kids nowadays seem to get earlier into those teen stuff. :( It's sad to see! And I agree scary!

I love children when they still care about you.

Thanks! I thought it was pretty sweet and kind of her, too.

You're so right: kids are a lot of fun and easy to be around when they still have that kind of innocence that lets them care about the people around them and in their lives. She is a very sweet, caring, and sensitive girl, and I appreciate that about her. =)
