Bits and Pieces ...

texchanSo, I finished up a fanfic. Rough draft only ... and I would rather be working on some original stuff. Still, writing is writing at this point. I'll take what I can get and be darn happy with it. This is another in my currently on-going series for WK. I wanted to write the series in order -- you know, story #1 through story # whatever. It hasn't worked out that way. Best laid plans and all that, I guess. This story, like the rough draft I finished before it, should fall somewhere at the end of the series. If everything works out.
I've been getting bits and flashes of story for Midroc II. It's better than the nothing I've had for months now, but it's also frustrating because nothing's hitting me in order. I tend to write like that: from start to finish in a rather linear way. I don't typically outline or plot much more than having a rough idea of where I'm starting and where I'm going. How I'll end up there is usually a total mystery, but it tends to progress in a straight line. I guess that's just how my brain works. Now, though, it's not like that. The scenes are pretty complete. And weighty -- as in, there's more there than just a line or an image. But they aren't in any sort of order. I think I may just set them down like this -- hodge podge -- and hope I can knit things together when all's said and done. It would be scary for me. Uncharted territory. But having something down is better than having nothing. Way, way better. >.O
