Ever wake up and hear a song and think to yourself: Wow, that's exactly how I feel. For today, this one is mine:

The Road I'm On (3 Doors Down)

She said, "Life's a lot to think about sometimes
When you're living in between the lines
And all the stars are sparkling, shine everyday."

He said, "Life's so hard to move in sometimes
When it feels like I'm towin' the line
And no one even cares to ask me, why I feel this way."

And I know you feel helpless now
And I know you feel alone
That's the same road
And the same road that I'm on.

He said, "Life's a lot to think about sometimes
When you keep it all between the lines
And everything I want and want to find one of these days."

But what you thought was real in life
Oh, has somehow steered you wrong
And now you just keep drivin'
Tryin' to find out where you could belong.

And I know you feel helpless now
And I know you feel alone
Well that's the same road
And the same road that I'm on.

What you thought was real in life
Has somehow steered you wrong
And now you just keep drivin'
Tryin' to find where you belong

I know you feel helpless now
And I know you feel alone
That's the same road
And the same road that I'm on.

This song has always resonated with me, but today ... I dunno. For some reason, it packed that extra POW.

There is a certain song that just about ALWAYS starts running through my head when I'm depressed (and it's so emo I'm not even willing to share the lyrics, I'd be too embarrassed) and it's a really vicious cycle cause then the song starts making me feel worse and I get more depressed....not to mention I get annoyed at myself for doing that to myself...

Well anyway, I'm not familiar with that particular song but the lyrics are pretty similar to a song or two I really like. I can see why they'd resonate. You should pull out a CD that makes you feel upbeat and happy though and reset the music in your head!

Yes!! You are so right. I listened to the song three times and then was like: "Eeesh! What am I doing?" So I found a more cheerful song. >.O

Awwww Patti
*big hugs your way*

Yea I know what you mean! Isn't it so masochistic what we humans do?? I totally do the same! I go straight to my Radiohead playlist when I'm depressed and all it does is confirm that I'm utterly miserable and nothing more lol Often times feeling even worse than I did before I hit "play." So afterwards I try to cheer up by listening to something a bit more upbeat like skyrat mentioned. Ehhh... usually if I'm in a baaad funk that doesn't work either but OMG cake and icecream totally does hahahaha which isn't good. Cuz then I go "Crap! Now I'll gain weight... wtf.. I'm sad again"
Ugh! Depression just... blows. big chunks!

Anywhooooo

*HUGS back*

Gah. Isn't it true? I catch myself doing stuff like this and think: "Why?!" I'm already depressed, and this will only make it worse. And yet ... I hit rewind/replay. *fail* >.O

Cake and ice cream are a great idea. But I'm already way too fat. *nervous laugh*

I'll have to check out that link!
