texchan | Photos (yes, again): Leesburg & Fae

Hopefully the last photo-heavy post for a while. This is what happens when I get busy doing other stuff and leave the pics on the camera for way, way too long. >.O

The first set (behind the cut, as usual) are some Misc. shots from Leesburg and other spots in Virginia. I took these in November -- somewhere around Thanksgiving.

I think of this shot as "quaintly creepy". I liked how it was almost monochromatic, with the leaves and the tree bark giving a feeling of texture. At the same time, it's not exactly inviting. I would probably head in there to explore ... but I'm kinda odd that way. *nervous laugh*

And, so, if you haven't already figured it out, I love, love, love Leesburg. If it wasn't so far away from my hubby's work, I would move there in about a nano-second. In the meantime, I'll just continue to entertain myself with pictures from there. This is a detail of a cute, little house. I liked the red tree next to the white fence. Sometimes, it's the simple things.

The friendliest horse in the world. No, really!! This guy was eating with one of his horsey pals when I stopped to take a picture. He saw me get out of the car, and he stopped eating ... walked all the way over to the fence ... and then proceeded to pose for me. Totally made my day. (And he had a lovely soft nose, too. I miss having a horse. *sniffles*)

I know, sunspots/flares are bad. But sometimes, I like them. I guess they can fall into the "guilty pleasure" category. LOL

Another creepy forest. Seems I have a thing for these. Love the graphic look of the bare trees against that very lightly blue sky.

Aren't these cherry blossoms? I'm actually not sure, but they look like it to me. I remember taking this picture (shortly after Thanksgiving) and thinking: "Wow. I can't believe these are blooming. Is winter never going to arrive?" Now, with a foot of snow in my yard, I look back on this and laugh to myself. o_o
