School holiday has officially begun. And not a moment too soon. 0_0

Kiddo and I will be attempting to make red velvet cupcakes this afternoon. I think we are going to go to Zoo Lights tomorrow night. And Friday, I will be trying (for the first time ever) to make the Buche de Noel. Heaven help me. I'm going to need all the luck I can get. *nervous laugh*

Buche de Noel is my favorite thing ever!!! I like it so much I made my mom make me one as a birthday cake one year, haha. Yummy!!! Good luck!

I love it too! I've never made it before, so I am pretty nervous about trying it. I found a recipe that uses less butter, too. So hopefully that will be a good thing. Not sure. LOL! I would love to have that as a birthday cake. Yay for your mom!!

We didn't get to do the cupcakes yesterday because kiddo took sooooo long eating her snack after school. We ran out of time. But we are planning on making them this morning after she eats breakfast. I'm not doing the traditional cream cheese frosting, though. It has to be refrigerated, and the log cake has to go in the fridge, too. So I won't have enough room for both.

Wow, your kid's district got out pretty late! When does she go back?

Yeah, I think it's kind of late. Although they get out on the 22nd every year. My parents told me that the kids in Texas (where they live) got out last week. She has to go back on January 2nd, so it's kind of a short break.

Ha! I have no idea how people mail cupcakes. Hmmm ... that does make me wonder.

I wish the school holiday started earlier. And lasted longer. LOL
