So, we passed the fourth quietly. Kind of a relief after all the running around we've been doing over the past several weeks, really. I got to sleep in today until 11 AM -- HUGE treat!! Well, technically, I got up around 7 AM, when hubby got up and left to go play golf. I checked emails, finished the book I was reading, and then decided to go back to sleep. It was lazy and so hedonistic -- I loved it!! ♥ After hubby got home, we got the kiddo rounded up and headed out to lunch. I wanted Chili's because I love their Chicken Enchilada soup and just really had a taste for that. Sadly, they didn't have it today, but they did have the burger I love. So it wasn't a total loss. Good lunch. Finally got the new tires for the car. We did that after lunch -- dropped the car off, then headed home to hang out until it was ready. Hubby took a nap while the kiddo and I chilled out in the office. She was playing computer games, and I was mindlessly surfing around. A total time-waster, but I refuse to feel guilty about it. Hell, I feel guilty about so many things in my life. It's time for me to learn to cut myself some slack. Once the car was ready, we picked it up, grabbed dinner, then had a nice drive around some unfamiliar neighborhoods. It's not a very "green" activity, but I love driving around and checking out houses. I know -- totally nerdy of me.
Speaking of emails ... I lost a Saiyuki auction today. But I won one for the opening bid yesterday -- so I guess it kind of evens out. And, in the end, I think I'm happier over the one that I won. Like, if I had had to choose between the two auctions, I would have preferred the one I got. So, that's good. Still, losing sucks. *sigh* I was glad that I set a limit for myself, though, and stuck with it. I think that's important, and something I haven't always been successful at doing. My only hope is that more art will come available from this particular show later on. It's still kind of "new" now, so maybe once the shine wears off, I'll be able to build more of a collection from it.
Book-wise, I just finished up White Night. What is it? Book 10 of the Dresden Files? I think it's book 10, but I always lose count. Anyhow, I'll probably start the next one: Small Favor tonight. So, that's a good thing. I'm still loving the Dresden Files. More and more with each novel I finish. I'm surprised at how much all the characters have grown on me -- but I won't yammer on about that in this entry. Oh no!! Not when I can make a whole new entry for it! Heh, heh, heh.
Friday, we spent the day with friends. We did brunch and a movie (Up, for the second time -- love that movie!) with our closest friends. Their son and our daughter were best buds in preschool, and they're still pretty much best buds. Then, some good friends from Texas were coming through on their way to Shenandoah National Park, and they stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen them in probably four or five years, so it was great to see them again and catch up on everything with them. We all went to dinner, then our Texas friends came back and visited for a good long time before finally leaving. I was glad they stayed for a while, but I hope they made it to the park OK. It's still about an hour drive from our house.
And, last but certainly not least ... Cels!!
I've actually been catching up on some updating over the past week or so. So, these are my last several postings.

Date: 2009-07-05 06:53 pm (UTC)Lovely, lovely update as always! I like the Rox Rowe story. I've had cels like that, where I've waffled, but when they finally join my collection, it's insta-love!
Amazing Inu dream cel and awesome story!!! Hooray for eBay surprises!!!
And Serge...Serge, Serge, Serge. Those are two gorgeous, gorgeous cels of that gorgeous, gorgeous hunk. (Shhhh, don't tell Macus I said that! ;D )
Ok, I shall take my fangirl, cel drooling somewhere private now. :D

Date: 2009-07-05 07:09 pm (UTC)Awwww, thanks for the kind words on the cel additions. I was really excited about both the Rox Rowe and the Inu Yasha. I never thought I would be able to own an Inu Yasha cel from that particular scene. Usually, they get snapped up by all the "serious" IY collectors. (And, of course, no one's ever accused me of being a "serious" collector of anything. Except maybe dust. =P)
Your secret is safe with me. I promise I won't tell Macus a thing. What the pretty boyz don't know won't hurt them. heh, heh, heh.

Date: 2009-07-07 03:08 pm (UTC)I was (and still am) really excited over the IY cel. I've secretly wanted something from that sequence for a long time, but I never thought it would become a reality.
Thanks for the kind words on Rox Rowe. I was really happy at how pretty that one is. With the dealer's picture, it was hard to tell, so that could have gone either way. >.O Rox Rowe was a minor character, although he did drive the show's plot along. He wasn't in many episodes, so getting the cel was actually kind of exciting to me -- even though I feel like a total geek-girl for feeling that way. (LOLz)
I'm feeling marginally better. I managed to get a few hours alone last night, which helped a lot. I'm not outright mad any more, although I still feel a bit bitter and frustrated. I think things will be OK, though, once I have some time to deal with stuff. bleh. Thanks for caring! *hugs*
