(face-palmy icon, of course, for the kitty prezzie portion of this post. and, well, a few other things, too. >.O)

Why is it that, when my cat decides to barf on the floor, she inevitably does it in a spot where it's bound to get stepped on? Most likely by me. I mean, she could go to any number of sort-of-out-of-the-way places to upchuck. But, no. She does it in the doorways of rooms. In front of the washing machine. On the bath mat in my daughter's bathroom (which is also the bathroom I use most of the time). Next to my side of the bed.

Does it mean she loves me the most? And, if so, should I take it as a compliment? You know, kind of like when she used to kill little things and bring them to me as a prize? Or, does it mean she only pretends to like me -- purring to my face and, then, secretly hating on me once my back is turned. Or, does it mean she's still pissed at me for bringing Fae home? I mean, it's been a year and then some ... but cats seem to be professionals at holding grudges.

Ah well. The cat barf has been stepped in (as planned by Sister Kitty), cursed at (by me, as I was hopping around on one foot trying not to be too grossed-out), and cleaned up. I'm sure Fae will come along later and try to get it out of the trash, thus bringing the pet-fueled insanity full circle once again. See? This is what the Lion King meant with all that Circle of Life stuff. It wasn't anything romantic or cool. Nope, it was just something to do with barf. And stuff. >.O

I ran out of moisturizer a couple of days ago. I haven't had a chance to go to the mall since -- until today. (Mainly because I hate the mall, but that's a story for another post.) Tonight, we went there to eat dinner at PF Chang's, and I decided I would look for some new moisturizer. After dinner, I stopped off at Saks. Stood around in the cosmetics area for quite a long time before someone finally decided to help me. Then, they didn't have what I wanted. I couldn't believe it. This is pretty much the most popular product for this company, and Saks had NONE in stock. I mean, nothing from this particular line at all. At least the sales lady was helpful, once she decided to wait on me. She even looked in their stock room. Having had no luck at Saks, I headed to Macy's, which was kind of on the way to our car, anyhow. Macy's was actually much worse. I had to find a sales person. Then, the woman who decided to wait on me had no idea what I was talking about. She only glanced around the counter before saying: "I don't see it here." She didn't offer to look in the back or under the counter, where they usually store extra products. She just gave me a blank look and a shrug, as if to say, "Gee, that's too bad." Then told me to "Have a nice evening." Bleh. I hate the mall. And I still don't have any moisturizer. *fumes*

The mall trip was good for something, though. My inner Domestic Diva is quite happy after a little trip to Williams-Sonoma. Hubby traded in some credit card points for a W-S gift card, so I was finally able to pick up a few odds and ends I had been eyeing for a while. Two cookbooks -- one for meals (b/c it had a good recipe for Miso Salmon, which I love) and one for cupcakes (b/c I really just couldn't resist it, which is a scary thing to type out loud. yikes!). Some cupcake mix to make with my kiddo. Two pans for making Madelines (b/c I've always wanted to try it. I love those things!). And a really neat whisk-type thing -- it's a whisk, but with straight tines that have balls at the end, instead of tines that arc around into the normal whisk shape. It looks like it'll be easier to clean, so I'm kind of looking forward to trying it out. (Yes, the Domestic Diva kind of scares me, but ... *nervous laugh*)

I spent most of the day today with my daughter's kindergarten class -- again. I spent most of yesterday like that, too. Today was "party day" for them, though. So, after listening to them read stories they had written ... eating lunch with my daughter in the cafeteria ... going out to the playground with them at recess, I still got to hang around for the screaming and hijinx involved with the party. Musical chairs. Chutes and Ladders. Bubbles (outside, of course). Ice cream sundaes. Yadda, yadda, yadda. Needless to say, I'm mentally exhausted and happy I only have one child. And, yes, it reminded me I'm definitely not cut out for a career as a teacher. *falls over*

On the fangirl sqweely side of things, I got a surprise package in the mail today. Saiyuki Burial DVDs!!!! I'm so excited about this. Way more excited than I probably should be, but I'm a dork that way. I really wanted to see this OVA, but haven't been able to find it online. And I don't download stuff, so that option was out for me. Now, thanks to Klet, I can finally watch it! This totally made my day today, after all the kindergarten "fun". *laughs*

I've been trying to watch Yu Yu Hakusho. I never watched that whole series. I started collecting the dvds when it first came out over here, but I kind of got sidetracked somewhere around disc 12 or 13 or so. Anyhow, I saw the season thin-paks at Best Buy the other day. I bought Season 1. Then, today, I got Season 2 and Season 3. Maybe I'll actually manage to finish the silly show one of these days. >.O

Hubby and I are watching Samurai 7 together. I love that show -- other than sitting through every episode wishing Katshiro would die. (I really hate that character.) Kambei is still totally sqweel-worthy, though. I adore him. *fangirl sigh* It's kind of fun getting to watch anime with the hubs, too. We don't do that very often, so it's nice to share my hobby with him, at least a little.

Which moisturizer is it? Must be something really special, since you're willing to brave the mall (I hate it too). =P

Ah, YYH... good times.

It's the Verite moisturizer by Estee Lauder. (Did I spell that correctly? >.O I'm totally having a brain fart at the moment. Arg.)

I really hope they didn't stop making it, as I have super sensitive skin. So far, it's the only one I've found that works without turning my skin all red. *sigh*

If worse comes to worst you could always get it online (and sometimes for quite a bit cheaper). Good luck!

PS. Cetaphil and Eucerin/Aquaphor don't work either? I haven't tried them, but I've heard they are often recommended by dermatologists for sensitive skin.

I have used Cetaphil and Eucerin in the past, but they didn't do much for me in the way of moisturizing my skin. (Although they didn't irritate it, either.)

I may see if Neutrogena has a moisturizer that I can use. I have liked some of their products in the past. I'm just kind of bummed over having found something I loved and, now, not being able to find it again. *sigh*

Heh, YYH, it's been a few years since I've watched that. I remember Kurama though ^-^

And ew, kitty prezzies...I choose to believe they are messy, disgusting gifts of love. (Yeah, of the Fae thing ^^;)

I just hope I manage to get through the whole show this time. Somehow ... I will make it. *vows* (I think it's going to take a heckuva long time, though. bleh.)

Heh. I have to tell myself that, too -- that kitty prezzies are gifts of LUV. Otherwise, I would be afraid to sleep at night. Because, of course, the cat stays awake when I'm sleeping. =O.O=

By the by ... I started working on a (sort of) "morning after" fic. Darn you for sending these seedlings of ideas my way! I'll never get story #3 written at this rate. *laughs* Anyhow, I wanted to work on it more today, but didn't get to. I spent about four hours booking cels. Now I'm totally brain dead. And I still didn't finish. *diez*

Heh, I never finished it ^^;;; it sorta started to drag for me, but I liked the characters.

Meep! ...but she sounds like such a sweet kitty ^-^

Seriously?! OMG -tackles- Hee, just you (sort of) working on it is awesome! -bounces- If you do get to writing it, I SO want to read. I'm totally not going to apologize for that! (But I will say sorry for making it longer for you to finish story #3 ^^;;)

LOLz! Well, we'll see how it turns out. You may be totally sorry you asked once it's done. *nervous*

Hopefully, working on it will help move story #3 along, too, though. So, it's all good. ^.~

I highly doubt that. -squishes- You have never once disappointed me! (Well, once, but I had low expectations of you actually giving me Yohji Kudou as a present -le sigh-)

I hope it does help! And you have to, have to, have to (pretty please?) share if you do finish the morning after fic <3
