So ... since I've been on a (partially forced) cleaning rampage over the past several days, I thought it might be a good time to take some house pics. I've wanted to do this for quite some time, but I never felt like things looked nice enough. Now, though, I am -- ever so slowly -- getting my much-overdue "spring" cleaning done. I've been throwing stuff out ... boxing stuff up for donation ... dusting ... mopping ... vacuuming ... washing (curtains) ... and on and on and on. Like a maniac. It's stuff I've been avoiding for a long time. But it all needed to be done.

Anyhow, while the room is still relatively neat and clean, I thought I'd post some pics of my bedroom. I took a first set with my iPhone, which didn't come out as nicely as I had hoped ... but that set had my kitty in them. Sadly, I couldn't get her to go back into the room and pose for me once I pulled out the camera and attached the wide-angle lens. Models ... *sigh*. ^.~

Pics behind the cut!

Master Bedroom 1

This shot is looking into the room from the doorway. Pity it's such a gray and rainy day today, as more light would have been nice. We have a lot of windows in this room, so it's usually fairly bright -- even on a gray day. It's definitely one of the things that sold both of us on this house.

Master Bedroom 2

View of the room from the master bathroom doorway. OK ... so, mainly the bed. I know it's a HUGE bed frame, and I guess it's kind of out of style now. Even so, I still adore it. When hubby and I got married, we splurged and bought this bed frame as our joint wedding gift. So, it's kinda special to me. Plus, I tend to like a sort of country / cottage / rustic look to a room. =D

Master Bedroom 3

View of the other side of the room, standing in front of the closet. The armoire hides our TV (+ about a million DVD cases *shame*). The other door leads into the master bathroom. The area behind the love seat was kind of "wasted space", so my dad built out a storage cabinet for us. He originally installed a fairly simple one, but I'm toying with the idea of having it taken out and replacing it with a nice set of closets over on that side of the room. Our master closet is pathetically small, so we could use the extra space. Right now, we use that storage cabinet for suitcases and such.
