LOL!! In a way, they are kind of like a "fancier iPod". I have heard them described that way, and they do operate similarly to the iPod touch -- with the touch screen and all. They run different apps ... surf the Internet ... play movies and music ... and act as an e-book reader, too. Among other things. You can type and post with them, as well. (I'm typing this on there, and did the previous entry on it, too -- hence the typos because I'm not used to the built-in keyboard yet. =P)

For myself, I was reluctant to get one, although I really wanted one, because I already have a laptop, and couldn't see this replacing or supplementing it. But, it has a Bluetooth hookup, so I can use a wireless keyboard with it. Which means I can travel with this (and write on it) instead of lugging the laptop with me. Much easier travel-wise, as it's lighter and doesn't have to through the x-Ray separately like my laptop does. That might change ... but, so far, TSA seems to be treating these like iPods for security check-in purposes.

The one thing I don't like about it is that there is no USB port. I would prefer to have one of those ... but I'm happy, otherwise.
