texchan: aya and yohji from weiss kreuz (kitty boyz)
I've been so absent from both DW and LJ lately. Just too much going on in life -- and not enough energy to write about any of it, other than in my offline journal. (The long-hand one I keep ... and where EVERYTHING goes. I try hard to keep these online journals to the "nice" stuff only, although I don't always succeed at that. =P)

To sum up ... been doing a LOT of house cleaning. Spent most of last week engaged in that, and got my house looking pretty decent. I'm quite happy with the state of it now, other than the master bedroom and bathroom, which I will have to tackle in the coming week. Now to keep it looking OK without using up all my time doing so. That will be the trick. My parents are visiting. They arrived Friday and will be here a while.

And now ... the real reason for this post: some happy sqweels!! *woot* =D

Last night, my RS gallery passed the 50K marker for hits!! I'm so stupidly excited about this -- way more than I should be. Heck, way more than any sane person should be. I remember, when I opened my gallery, I used to visit other spots on RS and gawk over all the beautiful cels they had. And I always thought that 50K would be a totally unattainable goal for me, hit-wise. And so, that became my one goal for my gallery on RS: that it would reach 50K hits. I guess, if I was really inspired or determined, I would have set the goal at 100K, but I didn't. 50K it was ... and remained so (known only to me) for all of these years. And last night, I reached my goal!! It was (and still is) such a lovely, exciting feeling. Silly, I know ... but there you go.

And, recently, I added a cel I've lusted after for quite some time. I wasn't able to bid on him when he came up for auction several years ago, because I was busy bidding like a maniac (and losing painfully, I might add) for an Aya close-up from this same sequence. And so he went to live in a lovely gallery, where I figured he would stay for the duration. Unexpectedly, the previous owner put him up for sale last month. When this first happened, I didn't think there was any way I could try for him. The price tag was high, and I just didn't think I could afford it. After debating for quite a while and talking it over with my hubby, it turned out that I was able to try for him, after all. So, finally, he's with me and in my gallery. I'm so excited about it. I can't remember the last time I was so giddy and excited over a cel. I actually giggled while scanning and updating this guy, and, believe me, I'm not a giggly kind of girl. I can't thank the previous owner enough for selling him to me!!
