Back from Oz ...
Aug. 23rd, 2009 08:33 pmFun time at the hotel was fun. It was a great mini-vacation, and a really nice surprise from my hubby. And a huge treat to sit around doing nothing. That makes me sound like a lazy bum, doesn't it? *nervous laugh* Well, maybe I am naturally a lazy bum, but I try hard to overcome that in my day-to-day life. Sometimes, I succeed. Sometimes, I don't. Ah well.
Anyhow, I came back home today. To a kitchen full of dishes needing to be put away. A bedroom that desperately needs cleaning. Floors that need vacuuming. And bathrooms that need spiffing up. Woo Hoo! I guess it's true that a vacation can't last forever. But, my little break helped in one way. I find myself with a much better attitude toward tackling the things I know need to be done. Of course, my "curse" decided to welcome me home today, too. Which means I'm likely to be in a horrible mood tomorrow. Still, I'm hoping I can manage to overcome my lazy tendencies. We shall see.
Tonight, I finished up the laundry. I had managed to get most of it done before leaving, but there were a couple of loads left. Plus what I brought home from the hotel. And hubby and the kiddo went swimming in the pool there, too, so I had to wash their wet things. I wrote up a book review for my book blog. I installed Photoshop CS3 on my desktop. Finally. I've had the program for months -- so long that I'm kind of embarrassed to admit exactly how long! I just never felt I had the time to sit down and test it out, but I took my laptop with me to the hotel. It has CS3 on it, and I finally sat down and played around with it. And, I think I got some OK photos today. Maybe I'll try resizing and uploading some of them soon-ish.
All in all, vacations are nice (even mini ones), but coming home is pretty great, too. =)
