This band kicks so much ass. Seriously.

The concert was last night, and my ears have finally stopped ringing. Which is a good thing, although it kind of makes me sad (in a twisted sort of way) because it means the "concert glow" is beginning to fade as I stir about and prepare to face another "regular" day.

I can't remember the last time I had this much freaking fun at a concert. I yelled and sang myself hoarse, danced in the aisles, and, in general, just had a kick butt time. Not that I haven't been to other concerts. I have. And, they were bands I like, too. But, this was my first time seeing a band I dearly love. Without a doubt, they are my favorite band, period. So, I guess this really heightened the experience for me.

They were so incredible. Really played to the crowd, and you could tell how much they appreciated and loved their fans. John even stopped several times during the concert to talk to people who were lucky enough to have the spots next to the stage. (*is insanely jealous of those people*) One guy had his daughter there, near the front of the stage. She was about four or five, and she had made a drawing of the band. Her dad held her up to the stage, and she put the drawing up there. John saw her, and stopped to take the drawing from her himself, and, then, he even made sure the camera got a shot of it so that everyone in the crowd could see it. It was so, so cool, and I'm sure made that little girl's night. A memory for her to carry the rest of her life.

I know it sounds weird for me to say, but this band's music means a lot to me. Their songs really speak to me on many levels, and, often, I feel as if they are writing about my life and my thoughts on the world. I love music -- all kinds of music -- but it's very rare for me to connect on that level with a band. I could listen to their music all the time, and I do listen to it every day -- at least one or two songs. I can't even begin to describe the thrill of hearing these songs, which mean so much to me, performed live. It just gave me chills, and, when they played Black Balloon (my personal favorite of their songs) ... I almost wanted to cry. It was that freaking cool.

They played a good mix of stuff off their new album, which I bought on its release date and have been wearing out ever since, and their older songs. So, that was incredible and made the concert a lot of fun. I'm not sure how well sales of the new album have gone, but everyone around me seemed to know the new songs. We were all singing them together. And, they sound just the same in person as they do on their albums. I had always heard this about them, and, now, I know, first hand, that it is true. It made the concert an incredible rush for me.

So, yeah ... a happy, happy fangirl experience for me. Oh! I even got a t-shirt! YAY! And, in closing, I would like to give in to my fangirlness and just say: John Reznik is just smexay as he can be. I wanna lick him all over. *embarrassed grin* (Yes, I know, I usually reserve my fangirl tendencies for anime characters. But ... I'm willing to make exceptions. ^.~)

I can't believe I forgot to mention this in one of my earlier entries, but better late than never. Or not ...

Whatever. >.O

I posted one of my writing challenge "shorts" on ff.net. It's a WK one. I'm still working up the courage to try posting in a different fandom. It's kind of scary stepping outside of my "comfort zone", especially when I feel terrified any time I post something new. I mean, sticking stuff up here in my LJ for just a few people to look at is one thing, but that's different. You guys are my friends, and you're always nice to me. Posting in ff.net scares the bejeezus out of me, no matter how many times I do it. I keep on doing it, though, in the hopes that, one day,I will get over my fear. Not sure if that will ever happen, but, at the very least, perhaps I will get to the point where I'm desensitized to the possibility of someone hating my work. It's a slow process. Very slow. But, I'm working on it.

Anyhoo ... linkage, for anyone interested: Godzilla

EDIT:

OK, I must be insane, for I have stepped out of my Weiss Kreuz comfort zone and posted one of the Vampire Hunter D:Bloodlust fanfic challenges I wrote. Geez, I hope I don't get majorly flamed. Linkage: What's Your Favorite Color?

Go, read! Leave reviews! (just kidding! :P)

EDIT #2:

For some reason, the above linkage for the Godzilla story doesn't seem to be working. Not sure if ff.net changed the link on me or what, but I'm posting it again. Not like anyone cares about it, but just on the off chance a mildly interested party might stumble across this and click on the link.
