You're so right about that! It's such a great feeling to find something you've been thinking of for years and just, suddenly, realize: "Hey! That's it!!" I was thrilled at finding the book at my library. Now, I just need to search out a copy I can buy so that I can add it to my own collection. Which might be easier said than done, considering it was published around 1992. Yikes!
The mystery won't be depressing. Well, no more depressing than any mystery. That's the nice thing about those: they always follow a certain formula, so it's easy to know what to expect. ^.~
The Hedgehog book ... makes me hesitate a bit. It might be depressing. But the writing is so pretty that I want to continue reading it. So, hopefully my fears will end up being unfounded. *crossing fingers* =D
