Things that Make Me Happy ...
All right. Anyone who happened to read my LJ entry yesterday knows I was in a piss-poor mood. Actually, describing it as "piss-poor" would be a step up from what it actually was. Call it depths of despair, hormonally induced emo-whining ... whatever. The point is, I was not in a happy place. At all. So, today, I decided I would be in a better mood. And, what better way to be in a good mood than to list things that make me happy? I did this on my RS weblog, today, too, but kept it anime-related. It was kind of fun, and had the desired effect of upping my mood, which is why I decided to repeat the exercise here.
So, in no particular order ... Things that Make Tex-chan Happeh:
1. Being able to see my daughter's beautiful, smiling face each and every morning.
2. Butterfly kisses and sticky hugs, courtesy of my sweet kiddo.
3. Realizing that three is a wonderful age -- full of new challenges, but, also, complete with blessings that seem to compound and grow every day.
4. Being able to sit with and cuddle my old dog, who is 16. All the time I spend with him now is very precious to me.
5. Feeling the first nip of "Fall" in the air.
6. The way my spirit soars on a beautiful, sunny, fall day.
7. A sky that is so blue, it hurts your eyes to look at it.
8. Knowing I'm married to a man I adore, and who loves me back.
9. Listening to my cat purr.
10. Taking a nap in the middle of the day, with the shades drawn and the room dark and cool.
11. Watching Law & Order.
12. Reading a good book.
13. Writing a story as a gift for a wonderful friend.
14. Being able to add new cels to my collection and gallery.
15. Getting two wonderful (unexpected) reviews on a couple of my fanfictions.
16. Realizing a few people out there enjoy what you have created.
17. The Gluhen Aya wallpaper that is on my desktop. (Yeah ... I mentioned him a lot in my RS blog, but, hey ... I really love this wallpaper! :P)
18. Crystal's amazing artwork. I never get tired of looking at it, and it never fails to lift my spirits. But, then, true beauty is like that, isn't it?
19. Seeing the leaves change in the fall.
20. Watching my rosebushes come back from scraggly to beautifully full after I trim them back.
21. Knowing my hubby loves me enough to bring me Snowcaps when I've had a bad day.
22. Saiyuki fancels by my wonderful friend, Heather, which will be on their way to me shortly.
23. The Disney Cheshire Cat plushie that sits on my speaker, on top of my desk.
24. The blue walls in my kitchen.
25. Having the laundry done.
26. Staying up till 5 AM to watch the first Tactics DVD.
27. Being able to write -- when I'm in that zone, where the words flow on their own.
28. Luzianne Iced Tea, served in a Ball Jar glass, with lots and lots of ice.
29. Lazy Sundays, spent with my family.
30. Knowing, no matter how bad things look, they will get better ... if I just hang on.
