NYC Trip: Photo Post!!

Took a day trip to Manhattan last Saturday (6-11) to see the Harry Potter Exhibition. We went with some dear friends, and had a fantastic (although exhausting!!) day. Feels like we walked for about a hundred miles ... and we saw just as much as we possibly could. It was a fun, fun trip. My only complaint was that I couldn't take many pictures. The weather wasn't cooperative. Shortly after we arrived, it started drizzling heavily and, then, raining, and I wasn't willing to chance damaging my camera. Plus, the light wasn't the best -- gray and somber.

But, I did get a few pics. (This is me, after all ... Hee! ^.~)

La Bonne Soupe Balcony

We ate lunch at La Bonne Soupe, an adorable little cafe. I had never been there before, but our friends recommended it. And it was fantastic. The best Onion Soup ever! And I had a very yummy omelette -- even though it included ham (which I very much don't like). Yeah ... looong and boring story. LOL!

Electronics Store

An electronics store. It just appealed to me -- the colors, the people walking in the foreground. So I snapped it as we drove by.

St. Patrick's Cathedral 3

St. Patrick's Cathedral 2

St. Patrick's Cathedral 1

These are all from St. Patrick's Cathedral. Beautiful, very gothic-looking church. I love it so much. Just all the intricately detailed carving ... the expressions on the statue's faces ... and the textural, soft gray coloring to the stones. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous.

Street Scene 2

Because you can't go to Manhattan without taking at least one picture full of taxicabs. ^.~

Rockefeller Center 3

Rockefeller Center 2

Rockefeller Center 1

All of these are of the fountain outside Rockefeller Center. Beautiful hydrangeas, and who can't love a guy riding a giant fish? Yeah ... exactly.

Street Scene 1

Another street scene. Took this as I lingered in the middle of the crosswalk. Lingering does not go over well in Manhattan. >.O

Flags

Flags.

Buildings

Buildings. Love the textures at work here. And the wooden moldings on the building in front. Gorgeous.

Hot Dog Stand

My favorite photo from the whole trip. Love these things!! (Although I will not eat anything that comes from them. Heh.)
